🍪 New recipe: No-Bake Cannabis Energy Bites
No-Bake Cannabis Energy Bites — oat-and-nut-butter bites infused with cannacoconut oil, no oven required.
DECARBOXYLATION (always required before infusing raw flower): spread ground flower on a lined baking sheet, bake at 240°F (115°C) for 30–40 minutes. This converts non-psychoactive THCA into active THC.
FAT IS REQUIRED: THC and CBD are fat-soluble, not water-soluble. Any infusion needs a carrier fat (butter, oil, cream) or alcohol — plain water-based tea made with raw flower alone won't extract much.
STANDARD INFUSION RATIO: roughly 1 cup of butter or oil per 7–10g (about 1/4 oz) of decarbed flower, for a moderate-strength batch.
INFUSION METHOD: simmer the fat with the decarbed flower on low heat (160–200°F / 70–95°C) for 2–4 hours, stirring occasionally, then strain through cheesecloth.
DOSING SAFETY: start low and go slow — 5–10mg THC is a reasonable single serving for someone new to edibles. Label finished batches clearly with strength per serving, and keep them away from children and pets.
DELAYED ONSET: edibles take 30–90 minutes (sometimes longer) to kick in because they're processed through the liver, unlike inhaled cannabis. Wait it out before taking more — this is the single most common cause of uncomfortable overconsumption.
