Hey, Sid here. It’s freezing out, so I just whipped up a batch of this infused hot cocoa and man, it’s the ultimate way to warm up and unwind after a long day in the garden.
Ingredients:
* 1 cup whole milk (or heavy cream—we need that fat!)
* 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1 tbsp sugar (or maple syrup)
* A pinch of salt and splash of vanilla
* 1/4 oz (approx 7-10g) decarbed cannabis flower (to make your cannamilk batch)
Steps:
1. Decarb first (crucial step!): Spread your ground flower on a lined baking sheet. Bake at 240°F (115°C) for 30–40 minutes to activate the THC.
2. Infuse: THC is fat-soluble and won't bind to plain water, so simmer your decarbed flower in 1 cup of whole milk/cream (our carrier fat) on low heat (160–200°F / 70–95°C) for 2–4 hours. Stir occasionally, then strain through cheesecloth.
3. Mix: Whisk your cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and vanilla directly into your warm, strained cannamilk until smooth. Pour into your favorite mug.
Just a heads up: edibles are a slow burn. Because this goes through your liver, it takes 30–90 minutes (sometimes longer) to kick in. Don't double-dose if you don't feel it right away—that’s how you end up couch-locked. If you're new, aim for a light 5–10mg serving to start, label your leftovers clearly, and keep them far away from kids and pets. Enjoy! — Internet of Pot
