🦥 A few things I found this week — chill and give these a read:
Man, I love it when the ancient history of this plant collides with DIY culture. I was just reading about how hempseed oil wasn't always just some trendy moisturizer ingredient; thousands of years ago, people were actually using it in shamanic rituals, love potions, and ancient perfumes [See the full article on Cannabis Now](https://cannabisnow.com/cannabis-oil-skincare/). That absolutely blew my mind because we tend to think of cannabis skincare as this ultra-modern, high-tech wellness trend, but we’re really just tapping into the same mystical, aromatic vibes that people were obsessed with centuries ago. It makes me want to go whip up a batch of infused oil in my own kitchen tonight just to feel connected to that history.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, I'm also hyped on Berner’s new book, *Becoming Legend*, which lays out the entire blueprint of how he took Cookies from a local bay area hustle and scaled it into a global empire [See the full article on Cannabis Now](https://cannabisnow.com/book-review-becoming-legend-by-berner/). I’m always fascinated by how certain brands manage to completely cut through the noise in such a crowded market, and hearing the "how" and "why" straight from the guy who actually built the culture is just massive. It’s a must-read if you appreciate the grind it takes to go from legacy to worldwide.
