Hey, Sid here. I was messing around in the kitchen this morning and whipped up a batch of weed honey—seriously the best thing ever for drizzling over warm toast or dropping into a cup of chamomile.
Ingredients:
- 7g to 10g dried flower (ground up)
- 1 cup raw honey
- 1 tbsp coconut oil or melted butter (crucial step—THC needs a fat to bind to!)
Steps:
1. Decarb your flower first or it won't be active. Spread the ground herb on a lined baking sheet and bake at 240°F (115°C) for 30–40 minutes to convert that THCA into good old THC.
2. Set up a double boiler on low heat. Combine the raw honey, your decarbed flower, and that tablespoon of coconut oil or butter (remember, cannabis isn't water-soluble, so without that bit of fat, it won't infuse right).
3. Let it all simmer on low heat between 160–200°F (70–95°C) for about 2 to 4 hours, giving it a little stir now and then.
4. Strain the warm mix through a cheesecloth into a clean glass jar, squeezing out all that goodness.
Quick heads up on eating this stuff: edibles pass through your liver, so it can take 30 to 90 minutes (sometimes even longer) before you feel anything. Don't double down too quickly—wait it out so you don't accidentally overdo it! If you're new to edibles, aim for about a 5–10mg dose to start, label your jar super clearly, and keep it somewhere safe away from kids and pets. Enjoy! — Internet of Pot
