As someone who spends half my life obsessing over soil health and regenerative practices, it drives me nuts that the people doing some of the most innovative organic cultivation work in the country are treated like second-class citizens just because of a tax classification.
On a much wilder note, I ran into the absolute fever dream of a story about Lev Parnas, who apparently almost became a massive cannabis mogul before he got tangled up as Trump's fixer in Ukraine, ended up in federal prison, and is now somehow running for Congress on a full legalization platform [See the full article on High Times](https://hightimes.com/news/lev-parnas-trulieve-trump-cannabis-congress/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=lev-parnas-trulieve-trump-cannabis-congress). You literally cannot make this stuff up. I love a good redemption arc as much as the next guy, but watching a guy go from international scandal and a prison cell straight to lobbying for our plant on the campaign trail is wild.
