Hey everyone, Sid here. I was geeking out over some plant chemistry today and wanted to spotlight humulene. If you’ve ever sniffed a bud and caught an earthy, woody, or faintly hoppy vibe, that’s humulene doing its thing. It’s the same stuff that gives hops their signature character, and you’ll also find it naturally in sage and ginseng.
In the cannabis world, you’ll often find high levels of it in classic strains like White Widow, Girl Scout Cookies, and Headband. What's really interesting is that humulene is commonly associated with appetite suppression. It’s also often discussed for potential anti-inflammatory properties, especially when it teams up alongside caryophyllene (Source: Russo, E.B. (2011), British Journal of Pharmacology). Pretty cool how these compounds work. What are your thoughts on it?
