Day 4: The plugs were soaked in a feed mixture before placement of spouted seeds. Then as much as possible was squeezed out leaving them damp but not wet. The first day they are covered and moisture is contained. The warm temp evaporates some causing a very humid state. This aids the seedling greatly! As seen previously, once the seedling breaks ground, a hole/openning lets the seedling(s) out of the humid area. The roots zone however will stay in this humid, no longer damp, almost dry state. This will cause the seedling to send out more than just a single tap root.
In turn, the seedling(s) will have a massive root system to begin its next growth spurt.
For now, the plugs have not recieved any feed or water. Using the “lift test”, they feel much lighter than yesterday. It is very important to cover them enough as not to dry out fully. This day matters most, keep a close eye on them. This point between humid & dry, is the sweet spot for that root growth!
