If you’ve ever cracked open a jar and got hit with this wild, complex mix of floral, herbal, and citrus notes all at once, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s the same stuff that gives nutmeg, tea tree, and even fresh apples their distinct aromas. It's actually pretty rare for terpinolene to be the dominant terpene in a strain. But when it is, it’s commonly associated with an uplifting, energizing feel, according to research by Russo, E.B. (2011) in the British Journal of Pharmacology. You'll often find it popping up in strains like Jack Herer, Golden Goat, and Ghost Train Haze. What do you think of it? I'm not a doctor — this isn't medical advice, just what's commonly reported. Just whipped up a fresh batch of cannacoconut oil and had to share—using coconut oil (especially MCT-rich) is a total game-changer for absorption compared to regular butter, and it’s super versatile. Ingredients: * 7 to 10 grams of your favorite flower (about 1/4 oz), ground up * 1 cup of organic coconut oil (MCT or virgin) Steps: 1. Decarb first! THC isn't active in raw flower, and since cannabinoids are fat-soluble (not water-soluble), we have to prep the bud before infusing. Spread your ground flower on a lined baking sheet and bake at 240°F (115°C) for 30–40 minutes to activate the THC. 2. Melt your coconut oil in a saucepan or double boiler on low heat. 3. Stir in your decarbed flower. Keep it on a low simmer between 160–200°F (70–95°C) for 2 to 4 hours. Stir it occasionally so it doesn't burn. 4. Turn off the heat, let it cool a bit, and strain it through a cheesecloth into a clean glass jar. Don’t squeeze the cloth too hard or you’ll get excess chlorophyll. Quick heads up on using this stuff: edibles are no joke because they go through your liver, meaning it can take 30 to 90 minutes (sometimes longer) to actually kick in. Don't double down too quickly!
